Drawn to Michigan Tech’s renowned mechanical and automotive engineering programs, Sanjiv arrived with clear goals: to master automotive control systems and immerse himself in real-world engineering challenges. What he found was more than just academic excellence – he discovered a vibrant community that would shape his university experience.
“ISA welcomed me with open arms,” Sanjiv reflects, describing his early days as a member. “It became my second home, far away from home.” This sense of belonging proved transformative, connecting him with fellow students who shared not just his cultural heritage but his vision for building stronger community bonds.

The transition from member to E-Board leader came naturally, inspired by the exemplary leadership he witnessed. “Previous leaders created such a strong sense of belonging,” he explains. “I wanted to build on that legacy, ensuring others could experience that same pride and connection within our community.”
